The Systems Engineering Program at Universidad Mariana focuses on the integral formation of the Systems Engineer in both their humanistic and scientific aspects, which enables them to actively and competently participate in the development of computer solutions aimed at satisfying computational and organizational technological needs of the local, regional, national and international environment. The program operates consistently under Christian principles and values.
Objective: To prepare entrepreneurial Systems Engineers with extensive scientific knowledge in the handling of information and its technological application, approached through mechanisms and instruments that facilitate its organization, structuring, management, planning, modeling, development, processing, transfer and communication. This enables the creation of computer and information models that, by materializing information systems, contribute to the progress of various organizations and, consequently, to regional, national and international development.
The Systems Engineering Program at Universidad Mariana strives for academically competent professionals who are able to identify and solve problems within the field of computational disciplines. It contributes to the technological transformation of organizations in local, national, and international contexts through quality education guided by ethical principles, critical thinking, social commitment, and inspired by the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the Marian and Franciscan spirituality.
By the year 2030, the Systems Engineering Program will be recognized for its high quality in the training process, based on disruptive didactics focused on solving problems in real environments, and regional leadership with social impact in Science, Technology, and Innovation.
The Systems Engineering Program attached to the Faculty of Engineering of the Universidad Mariana of the city of San Juan de Pasto (Nariño, Colombia), has developed its Educational Program Project (PEP), based on the results of the self-evaluation process for accreditation before the National Accreditation Council (NAC) and other institutional documents as guidelines to guide and direct, in a coherent, orderly and forward-looking manner, the academic and administrative processes of the program aligned with the institutional mission and vision.
